Growing regions


The tomato is, strictly speaking, a fruit, as born from a flower and seed which has born another bush. Whether we call it tomato or jitomate depending on the region of Mexico where you are cooking, is one of the most used in the kitchen of our country and many countries in the world. It is mostly used in salads ingredients, dishes and fresh juice. The food industry prepares in countless ways: from juices, purees, canned whole peeled, fried up as an ingredient in various chutneys, jams, essentially for the production of food, flavors and products tomatoes.

In other words, the tomato is in many of the things we eat.

Del verde al rojo gelatinoso

Red tomato is the common name of the plant climbers and long stems. The leaves have serrated edges; yellow flowers have five pieces collected in lateral clusters. The tomato is a fruit of generally rounded and flattened, except some varieties of fruit elongated, as saladette. Although they are of different sizes, it's usually a large fruit. Sometimes it is not completely smooth, but has more or less deep wedges. At maturity turns red in the peel and pulp, which is somewhat gelatinous seeds divided into cores.
