The fruit is a globose or barely pyriform hesperidium, up to 15 cm in diameter. It is covered with a thick, fleshy shell, detached from the endocarp, yellow or pinkish in color, with small, very aromatic oil glands, and rough. It has 11 to 14 carpels, firm, very juicy, sweet or sour depending on the variety, separated by membranous walls with a c haracteristic bitter taste and containing pulp that ranges from pale yellow to very intense red. The seeds are scarce, up to 1.25 cm long, normally polyembryonic, smooth, elliptical or delicate, white inside.
